15.06.10 So near yet so far...

Two seconds at Royal Ascot today for our clients. The first was the Tattersalls Ireland graduate Paco Boy in the Gr.1 Queen Anne Stakes, a race he won last year (below). Beaten a neck by wonder mare Goldikova, he lost nothing in defeat and we hope the result will be reversed the next time they meet.

Later in the afternoon Dick Turpin was narrowly beaten by stablemate Canford Cliffs in the Gr.1 St. James's Palace Stakes. Bred by John McEnery and sold at Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale, he will surely have his turn one day; that was his third straight Group 1 second, following the Gr.1 English 2000 Guineas and the Gr.1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains.
