23.03.10 DAYLAMI’S ARRIVAL IN IRELAND EAGERLY AWAITED
World Champion Daylami is shortly due to arrive back in Ireland to stand at Coolagown Stud in Cork, having been resident at Riethuiskrael Stud in South Africa since 2006. The grey son of Doyoun had a successful Cheltenham Festival, thanks to Pigeon Island, who won the Gr.3 Grand Annual Chase and Zaynar who finished third in the Champion Hurdle.
Daylami is already the sire of the Gr.1 winners Grey Swallow (Irish Derby) and Voila Ici (2009 Premio Roma), and he has recently come to prominence as a National Hunt sire, with the likes of Gr.1 Triumph Hurdle winner Zaynar (placed in this year’s Gr.1 Champion Hurdle), Ebaziyan (Gr.1 Supreme Novices’Hurdle), Royal Mougins (three Gr.1 hurdle wins), as well as the recent Cheltenham bumper winner Tetlami. He received another timely boost recently when his daughter Zarinava won the Gr.2 Mares Hurdle at Doncaster.
A fee of €3,000 has been set for Daylami, who joins Fleetwood (sire of the Cheltenham Gr.3 winner The Sawyer) and flat sire Papal Bull (who has his first foals this year), at Coolagown Stud.
